Grand Ave., in South San Francisco while en route to work at Genentech. This was the first day Shane took his daughter biking with him. It was one of 22 locations throughout San Mateo County sponsored by the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance and the Silicon Valley Bike Coalition. Today was Bike to Work Day held throughout San Mateo County and San Francisco. It is part of a national event to promote health, exercise and environmental well being. By 9:30am, there were 258 bicyclists counted at the location. Bicyclists were offered water, coffee, fruit and bagels as they stopped at the station on their way to work.
